The Adarna Bird: A childhood legend This was a legend narrated to us when we were kids. It is story of a Kingdom called Berbania. The king of Berbania was under a serious disease and only the song of the Adarna bird could heal the king. The King has three successors (sons), Prince Diego, Prince Pedro and Prince Juan. The one who could find the Adarna Bird and bring it back to the kingdom to heal the King will automatically assume the throne.
Prince Diego and Prince Pedro have greedy hearts. They looked for the bird with cruel intentions and used dirty deeds to achieve their intents. They went to the Bundok na Pula to look for the Adarna Bird. Unfortunately, they got the wrong bird which caused them to become pillars of stone. Prince Juan, with a good and pure heart and got the right Adarna Bird. The Bird transfigured into a human-being. Prince Juan took the Adarna into the kingdom. Then, the Adarna sang a hymn which healed the King of Berbania.
Lesson: Greediness will lead us nowhere! A pure and a humble heart will lead us somewhere.

The Real Thing: I watched Ang TV the movie: The Adarna Adventure. This movie was launched 14 years ago. :)
