Day 30

What if a huge calamity impacted the earth and destroyed it. You survived it together with your father. Unfortunately, your mother died...and everybody else...your friends, your neighbors, your grandparents. It's just you and your dad and a gun with 2 bullets. Other survivors are running after you to eat you.

There's not enough food. The weather is deadly. The water is dirty. The easiest way to find food is to hunt for your fellow human. But you will not do that, your goal is to be GOOD no matter what happen. You will die pure, will die as a good person, will die with fire in your heart.

You entered houses that are not yours to find something useful. Its ok to get the stuffs, no one owns them. You walk down the road, hungry, thirsty.

You passed by your house. There were no happy noises like it used to have. You entered it. Everything is dirty. The walls are cracked as if everything will fall on you when you do a blow. The frames that used to hang on your wall are now on the ground, difficult to recognize the pictures.

Its still you and your father. You get thinner, your hair gets longer, your face is unrecognizable. You are wearing a dirty jacket. You remember the time you were vain during your prom, body conscious and very gentle in your actions. But circumstances changed your actions. You are not different compared to a street kid. Still, you must survive the terrible weather and the barbaric actions of your fellow survivors.

Everything is simple. You could shoot your father and kill yourself to end all your sufferings, but still your goal is to be good amidst your environment. You look different, but your values are still there. You still desire to show love amidst a world of hatred.

You saw this house with a secret manhole. You opened it. Then foods unimaginable was there. Its like heaven. You and your dad had this feast. You rested with a full stomach.

You need to leave the place. You took all the food you need and continued your journey. Along the way, a thief took your food while you are sleeping. Your protective father got mad, ran after the thief and tried to shoot him. You reminded your dad that your goal is to be good in times like this. You gave the thief some food to eat.

After some time, your father died.

Its just you.

Depressing.

Lonely.

Sad.

Are you still going to preserve your values in times like this?

***

I created the above scenario because it was in line with the latest movie I watched entitled The Road. I like the moral of the movie, its survival without evil.

I recommend you to watch this film. Its still on theaters.

  2. it's not just about living a life with struggles but it's about how you appreciate and discover yourself to endure all the odds that may come... sometimes it may seem worthless but it has its best purpose on it...
sometimes we think it is a non sense life, but are we looking it beyond its purpose???
